WHL Championship
The WHL Championship, also known as the Western Hockey League Championship, is the final playoff series in the WHL, a major junior ice hockey league in Canada and the United States. This championship determines the league champion and is contested by the winners of the two conferences: the Eastern Conference and the Western Conference. The series is played in a best-of-seven format, where the first team to win four games is crowned the champion.
The WHL Champion earns the right to compete for the Memorial Cup, which is the national championship for junior hockey in Canada. The Memorial Cup features the WHL Champion, the OHL Champion from the Ontario Hockey League, and the QMJHL Champion from the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League, along with a host team. The WHL Championship is a significant event in junior hockey, showcasing young talent and providing a pathway to professional leagues.
