WASP-105b
WASP-105b is an exoplanet located about 1,200 light-years away from Earth in the constellation Phoenix. It is classified as a hot Jupiter, meaning it is a gas giant similar in size to Jupiter but orbits very close to its star, resulting in high surface temperatures.
The planet completes an orbit around its host star, WASP-105, in just about 4.03 days. This rapid orbit contributes to its extreme heat, with temperatures reaching over 1,000 degrees Celsius (1,832 degrees Fahrenheit). WASP-105b was discovered using the transit method, where astronomers observe the dimming of a star's light as a planet passes in front of it.
