Viking Swords
Viking swords were essential weapons used by the Norse warriors during the Viking Age, roughly from the late 8th to the early 11th century. These swords typically featured a double-edged blade, measuring about 30 to 40 inches long, and were designed for slashing and thrusting. The blades were often made of high-quality iron, sometimes with patterns created through a technique called pattern welding.
The hilts of Viking swords were usually adorned with intricate designs, often made from materials like bronze or silver. Many swords also had a distinctive cross-guard to provide better grip and control. These weapons were not only practical but also symbolized status and power among the Vikings.
