Vigil Games is a video game development studio founded in 2004, known for creating the popular action role-playing game series, Darksiders. The studio was established by a group of industry veterans and gained recognition for its unique art style and engaging gameplay mechanics. In 2013, Vigil Games was acquired by THQ, but the studio faced challenges when THQ filed for bankruptcy in 2012. After the acquisition, the team was dissolved, and many members went on to form new studios, including Gunfire Games, which continued the legacy of the Darksiders franchise.
