Video Coding Experts Group (VCEG)
The Video Coding Experts Group (VCEG) is a working group within the International Telecommunication Union (ITU) that focuses on developing video coding standards. Established in 1994, VCEG aims to improve video compression techniques to enhance the quality and efficiency of video transmission over various networks.
VCEG collaborates with other organizations, such as the Moving Picture Experts Group (MPEG), to create advanced coding standards like H.264 and H.265. These standards are widely used in applications ranging from streaming services to video conferencing, ensuring that video content is delivered effectively and with minimal bandwidth usage.
