Vespa Mandarina
Vespa mandarina is a species of wasp belonging to the family Vespidae. Commonly known as the Asian hornet, it is native to East Asia but has spread to parts of Europe and North America. This wasp is recognized for its distinctive yellow and black coloration, with a large, elongated body that can reach up to 3 centimeters in length.
The Asian hornet primarily preys on other insects, making it a beneficial species for controlling pest populations. However, it can pose a threat to honeybees and other pollinators, leading to concerns among beekeepers. Its aggressive behavior when defending the nest can also pose risks to humans.
