Verb Moods
Verb moods are grammatical forms that express the attitude of the speaker toward the action of the verb. The three primary moods are the indicative, imperative, and subjunctive. The indicative mood states facts or asks questions, such as "She runs every day." The imperative mood gives commands or requests, like "Run faster!"
The subjunctive mood expresses wishes, hypotheticals, or conditions contrary to fact, as in "If I were a bird." Each mood serves a different purpose in communication, helping to convey the speaker's intent and the nature of the action being described.
