Venous Inflammation
Venous inflammation, also known as venous thrombophlebitis, occurs when a vein becomes inflamed, often due to a blood clot. This condition can cause pain, swelling, and redness in the affected area. It typically affects the veins in the legs but can occur in other parts of the body as well.
The inflammation can result from various factors, including prolonged immobility, injury, or certain medical conditions. Treatment often involves medications to reduce inflammation and prevent further clotting. In some cases, compression stockings may be recommended to improve blood flow and alleviate symptoms.
