Venial Sin
A venial sin is a minor wrongdoing in Christian theology that does not sever one's relationship with God. Unlike mortal sins, which are grave offenses that require repentance and can lead to spiritual death, venial sins are less serious and can be forgiven through acts of contrition, prayer, or participation in the sacraments, such as the Eucharist.
Examples of venial sins include small acts of dishonesty, impatience, or unkind thoughts. While they are still considered sinful, they do not carry the same weight as mortal sins. Understanding venial sins helps individuals recognize the importance of striving for moral integrity in their daily lives.
