Vehicle Titles
A vehicle title is an official document that proves ownership of a vehicle, such as a car, truck, or motorcycle. It contains important information, including the vehicle's make, model, year, and Vehicle Identification Number (VIN). The title is issued by the state’s Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV) and is required for buying, selling, or registering a vehicle.
When a vehicle is sold, the title must be transferred from the seller to the buyer. This process ensures that the new owner has legal rights to the vehicle. If a vehicle is financed, the lender may hold the title until the loan is paid off, indicating that they have a financial interest in the vehicle.
