Vatican City State
Vatican City State is an independent city-state enclaved within Rome, Italy. It is the smallest country in the world, covering about 44 hectares (110 acres). Established in 1929, it serves as the spiritual and administrative center of the Roman Catholic Church and is the residence of the Pope.
The state is known for its rich history, art, and architecture, including famous sites like St. Peter's Basilica and the Sistine Chapel. Vatican City has its own postal system, radio station, and even a small army, the Swiss Guard, responsible for the security of the Pope and the Vatican.
