Varsity Rowing
Varsity rowing is a competitive sport in which college or university teams race in boats called shells. These teams, often referred to as varsity crews, consist of skilled athletes who train rigorously to improve their strength, endurance, and teamwork. Races typically take place on rivers or lakes, and the goal is to complete a designated distance in the shortest time possible.
In varsity rowing, there are different categories, including sweep rowing and sculling. In sweep rowing, each rower uses one oar, while in sculling, each rower uses two oars. The sport emphasizes discipline, coordination, and strategy, making it a challenging yet rewarding experience for participants.
