The Vardhan Dynasty was an ancient Indian royal family that ruled during the 6th and 7th centuries CE. It was founded by Harsha Vardhana, who became a prominent king and expanded his empire across northern India. Under the Vardhan Dynasty, the capital was established in Thanesar, and later moved to Kannauj. The dynasty played a significant role in unifying various regions and fostering trade and cultural exchanges. Harsha's reign is often noted for its patronage of arts and literature, attracting scholars like Bāṇa and Xuanzang.
