Valgus
Valgus refers to a deformity in which a body part, typically a joint, is angled away from the midline of the body. This condition is most commonly seen in the big toe, where it can lead to a condition known as hallux valgus. In this case, the big toe deviates towards the second toe, causing pain and discomfort.
Valgus deformities can also occur in other joints, such as the knee and ankle. These conditions may result from various factors, including genetics, improper footwear, or injury. Treatment options often include physical therapy, orthotics, or, in severe cases, surgery to correct the alignment.
