Valcamonica
Valcamonica is a valley located in the Lombardy region of northern Italy. It is known for its stunning natural landscapes, including mountains, rivers, and forests. The valley stretches approximately 90 kilometers and is surrounded by the Adamello and Ortles-Cevedale mountain ranges, making it a popular destination for outdoor activities like hiking and skiing.
Valcamonica is also famous for its rich archaeological heritage, particularly the ancient rock carvings found in the Naquane Park. These petroglyphs, which date back thousands of years, provide insight into the lives and beliefs of prehistoric communities. The valley was designated a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1979 due to its cultural significance.
