VLCCs
A VLCC, or Very Large Crude Carrier, is a type of oil tanker designed to transport large quantities of crude oil. These ships typically have a deadweight tonnage of 200,000 to 320,000 tons, allowing them to carry up to 2 million barrels of oil. VLCCs are essential for the global oil trade, as they efficiently move crude oil from production areas to refineries.
Due to their size, VLCCs are often used for long-haul voyages across oceans. They are equipped with advanced navigation and safety systems to ensure secure transport. The construction and operation of VLCCs are regulated by international maritime organizations to promote safety and environmental protection.
