V. Shantaram
V. Shantaram was a prominent Indian filmmaker, actor, and producer, known for his significant contributions to Indian cinema. Born on November 18, 1901, in Maharashtra, he began his career in the 1920s and became a pioneer in the industry, creating films that often addressed social issues and promoted cultural values.
Shantaram founded the Rajkamal Kalamandir studio and directed several acclaimed films, including Do Aankhen Barah Haath and Jhanak Jhanak Payal Baaje. His innovative techniques and storytelling style earned him numerous awards, making him a respected figure in both Indian and international cinema until his death on April 30, 1990.
