Uruguayan War
The Uruguayan War (1839-1851) was a conflict in Uruguay between two main factions: the Blancos and the Colorados. The war was rooted in political and social tensions, with the Blancos supporting rural interests and the Colorados favoring urban elites. The conflict drew in neighboring countries, particularly Argentina and Brazil, which intervened to support their preferred factions.
The war resulted in significant destruction and loss of life, ultimately leading to the defeat of the Blancos. The conflict ended with the establishment of a more centralized government in Uruguay, paving the way for future political developments in the region.
