Urethroplasty
Urethroplasty is a surgical procedure aimed at repairing or reconstructing the urethra, the tube that carries urine from the bladder to the outside of the body. This surgery is often performed to treat strictures, which are narrowings of the urethra that can cause difficulty in urination, pain, or urinary tract infections.
The procedure can involve removing the narrowed section of the urethra and reconnecting the healthy ends or using tissue grafts to widen the urethra. Recovery time varies, but many patients experience significant improvement in urinary function after urethroplasty.
