Upper Canada
Upper Canada was a historical region in what is now Ontario, Canada, established in 1791. It was created to provide a separate government for English-speaking settlers, distinguishing it from Lower Canada, which was primarily French-speaking. The region played a significant role in the development of Canada, particularly during the early 19th century.
In 1841, Upper Canada was merged with Lower Canada to form the Province of Canada. This change aimed to address political and economic challenges faced by the region. Key cities in Upper Canada included Toronto, Hamilton, and Ottawa, which later became the capital of Canada.
