Unmanaged Switch
An unmanaged switch is a basic networking device that connects multiple devices within a local area network (LAN). It allows these devices, such as computers, printers, and servers, to communicate with each other without requiring any configuration. Unmanaged switches are typically plug-and-play, meaning they work right out of the box.
These switches operate at the data link layer of the OSI model and use MAC addresses to forward data to the correct destination. They are ideal for small networks or home setups where advanced features, like traffic management or security settings, are not necessary.
