University of Texas at Brownsville
The University of Texas at Brownsville (UTB) was a public university located in Brownsville, Texas. Established in 1991, it offered a range of undergraduate and graduate programs across various fields, including arts, sciences, and education. The university aimed to provide accessible education to a diverse student population, particularly serving the needs of the local community.
In 2015, UTB merged with Texas Southmost College to form the University of Texas Rio Grande Valley (UTRGV). This merger expanded educational opportunities and resources for students in the region, creating a larger institution that serves a broader area and enhances academic offerings.
