United States Customs and Border Protection
United States Customs and Border Protection (CBP) is a federal agency under the Department of Homeland Security. Its primary role is to safeguard the nation's borders while facilitating lawful international trade and travel. CBP officers inspect goods and people entering the country to prevent illegal activities, such as smuggling and human trafficking.
In addition to border security, CBP is responsible for enforcing immigration laws and collecting tariffs on imported goods. The agency works closely with other law enforcement agencies to ensure national security and promote safe and efficient trade practices across the United States.
