United States Army National Guard
The United States Army National Guard is a reserve component of the U.S. Army, consisting of state-based units that serve both community and country. It plays a vital role in domestic emergencies, such as natural disasters, and can be called upon for federal missions, including overseas deployments.
Members of the National Guard are trained soldiers who typically serve part-time while pursuing civilian careers or education. Each state has its own National Guard units, which are organized under the authority of the respective state governor, but they can also be mobilized by the federal government when needed.
