United Democratic Front
The United Democratic Front (UDF) was a coalition of anti-apartheid organizations in South Africa, formed in 1983. It aimed to unite various groups opposing the apartheid regime, including trade unions, religious organizations, and community groups. The UDF played a crucial role in mobilizing public resistance and advocating for democratic reforms.
The UDF was instrumental in the struggle against apartheid, promoting non-violent protests and civil disobedience. It worked alongside other movements, such as the African National Congress (ANC), to push for equality and justice. The coalition's efforts contributed significantly to the eventual dismantling of apartheid in the early 1990s.
