Unite The Right
"Unite The Right" was a series of far-right rallies held in the United States, primarily in Charlottesville, Virginia, in August 2017. The event aimed to unite various white nationalist, neo-Nazi, and other extremist groups in opposition to the removal of a statue of Robert E. Lee, a Confederate general. The rally drew significant media attention and sparked widespread protests.
The event culminated in violent clashes between attendees and counter-protesters, resulting in injuries and the death of Heather Heyer, a counter-protester who was struck by a car driven by a rally attendee. The incident raised concerns about hate groups and the rise of white supremacy in America.
