Ungulate
Ungulates are a diverse group of hoofed mammals that include animals such as horses, cows, deer, and sheep. They are characterized by their specialized feet, which have hooves that help them run and walk on various terrains. Ungulates can be divided into two main groups: perissodactyls, which have an odd number of toes (like horses and rhinos), and artiodactyls, which have an even number of toes (like pigs and giraffes).
These animals are primarily herbivorous, meaning they mainly eat plants. Their digestive systems are adapted to process tough plant materials, allowing them to thrive in a variety of habitats, from grasslands to forests. Ungulates play important roles in their ecosystems, such as grazing, which helps maintain plant diversity and provides food for predators like lions and wolves.
