Umpqua River Lighthouse
The Umpqua River Lighthouse is located near the mouth of the Umpqua River in Oregon. Built in 1894, it stands at 65 feet tall and is known for its distinctive white and black stripes. The lighthouse was designed to guide ships safely through the treacherous waters of the river and the nearby coastline.
The Umpqua River Lighthouse is one of the few lighthouses in the United States that still operates its original first-order Fresnel lens. Today, it is a popular tourist attraction, offering visitors a chance to learn about maritime history and enjoy scenic views of the surrounding area.
