USS Preble (DD-12)
The USS Preble (DD-12) was a destroyer in the United States Navy, launched on December 18, 1910. It was named after Commodore Edward Preble, a notable naval officer in the early 19th century. The ship was part of the Clemson-class destroyers and served primarily during World War I, providing escort and patrol duties.
Commissioned in 1911, the USS Preble played a vital role in naval operations, contributing to the safety of shipping lanes. After the war, it continued to serve until it was decommissioned in 1922. The ship was eventually sold for scrap in 1931, marking the end of its service.
