USS Patuxent (AOR-1)
The USS Patuxent (AOR-1) was a replenishment oiler of the United States Navy, launched in 1965. Designed to provide fuel and supplies to naval vessels at sea, it played a crucial role in supporting fleet operations. The ship was named after the Patuxent River in Maryland.
Throughout its service, the USS Patuxent participated in various military operations and exercises, enhancing the logistical capabilities of the Navy. It was decommissioned in 1997 and later sold for scrapping, marking the end of its nearly three-decade service to the fleet.
