USS Orion (AF-11)
The USS Orion (AF-11) was a stores ship of the United States Navy, launched on December 2, 1943. It was designed to supply naval forces with food, equipment, and other essential supplies during operations. The ship was commissioned on April 12, 1944, and served primarily in the Pacific Theater during World War II.
After the war, the USS Orion continued to support naval operations, participating in various missions until it was decommissioned on June 30, 1970. The ship was later transferred to the Maritime Administration and ultimately scrapped in 1980. Its service contributed to the logistical capabilities of the U.S. Navy.
