USS Oklahoma
The USS Oklahoma (BB-37) was a battleship of the United States Navy, launched in 1914. It was part of the Nevada class and served in both World War I and World War II. The ship was known for its speed and firepower, featuring ten 14-inch guns and advanced armor for its time.
During the Pearl Harbor attack on December 7, 1941, the USS Oklahoma was struck by multiple torpedoes, leading to its capsizing. The ship ultimately lost 429 crew members, making it one of the most tragic losses during the attack. The wreck was salvaged in 1943, but it was never returned to service.
