USS O'Bannon (DD-450)
The USS O'Bannon (DD-450) was a Benson-class destroyer of the United States Navy, commissioned in 1943. Named after Marine Corps Major General Oren K. O'Bannon, the ship played a significant role during World War II, participating in various naval operations in the Pacific Theater.
Throughout her service, the USS O'Bannon earned multiple battle stars for her contributions in key battles, including the Battle of Guadalcanal and the Battle of Leyte Gulf. The destroyer was decommissioned in 1945 and later sold for scrap in 1970, marking the end of her naval career.
