USS O'Bannon
The USS O'Bannon (DD-450) was a Fletcher-class destroyer of the United States Navy, commissioned in 1943. Named after Marine Corps Major Frank O'Bannon, the ship served prominently during World War II, participating in various operations in the Pacific Theater, including the battles of Iwo Jima and Okinawa.
After the war, the USS O'Bannon continued to serve in the Navy, participating in Cold War operations and various exercises. The ship was decommissioned in 1970 and later sold for scrap. Throughout its service, the USS O'Bannon earned multiple battle stars for its contributions to naval warfare.
