The USS McCoy (DE-1038) was a Buckley-class destroyer escort of the United States Navy, commissioned on 15 December 1956. Named after Lieutenant Commander William McCoy, the ship served primarily in the Atlantic and Mediterranean regions during the Cold War, conducting various missions including anti-submarine warfare and escort duties. Throughout her service, the USS McCoy participated in numerous naval exercises and operations, contributing to maritime security.
