USS Enterprise (CVN-65)
The USS Enterprise (CVN-65) was a nuclear-powered aircraft carrier of the United States Navy, commissioned in 1961. It was the first aircraft carrier to be powered by nuclear reactors, allowing it to operate for long periods without refueling. The ship was named after the earlier USS Enterprise (CV-6), a famous World War II carrier.
Throughout its service, the USS Enterprise played a significant role in various military operations, including the Vietnam War and the Gulf War. It was decommissioned in 2012 after more than 50 years of service, making it one of the longest-serving aircraft carriers in history.
