USS Cimarron (AO-177) History
The USS Cimarron (AO-177) was a fleet oiler of the United States Navy, launched on March 15, 1944. She was commissioned on December 15, 1944, and served primarily during the Korean War and the Vietnam War. The ship was designed to provide fuel and supplies to naval vessels at sea, enhancing the operational capabilities of the fleet.
Throughout her service, the Cimarron completed numerous deployments and earned several awards for her contributions. She was decommissioned on June 30, 1993, and later struck from the Naval Vessel Register. The ship was ultimately sold for scrapping in 2000.
