USS Bunker Hill
The USS Bunker Hill (CV-17) is an aircraft carrier of the United States Navy, commissioned in 1943. Named after the historic Battle of Bunker Hill during the American Revolutionary War, it played a significant role in World War II, participating in major battles in the Pacific, including the Battle of Leyte Gulf.
After the war, the USS Bunker Hill continued to serve in various capacities, including during the Korean War and the Vietnam War. The ship was decommissioned in 1970 and later scrapped, but it remains an important part of naval history, representing the evolution of naval aviation and carrier warfare.
