USS Aucilla (AO-56) History
The USS Aucilla (AO-56) was a fleet oiler of the United States Navy, launched on 15 December 1944. She was commissioned on 30 April 1945 and served primarily during the latter part of World War II, providing essential fuel and supplies to naval vessels in the Pacific Theater.
After the war, the USS Aucilla continued to operate, supporting U.S. forces during the Korean War and participating in various peacetime operations. She was decommissioned on 1 July 1970 and later struck from the Naval Vessel Register, marking the end of her service in the U.S. Navy.
