USS Anchorage (LSD-36)
The USS Anchorage (LSD-36) is a dock landing ship of the United States Navy, commissioned in 1970. Designed to support amphibious operations, it can transport and launch landing craft and vehicles, as well as provide support for Marines during beach landings. The ship is named after the city of Anchorage, Alaska.
Throughout its service, the USS Anchorage has participated in various military exercises and humanitarian missions. It is equipped with a flight deck for helicopters and has the capability to carry a variety of amphibious vehicles, enhancing its operational flexibility in diverse environments.
