USS Anchorage (LKA-113)
The USS Anchorage (LKA-113) is a former amphibious cargo ship of the United States Navy, launched in 1969. Designed to support amphibious operations, it was equipped to transport troops, vehicles, and supplies. The ship played a vital role in various military exercises and humanitarian missions throughout its service.
In 1992, the USS Anchorage was decommissioned and later struck from the Naval Vessel Register. It was named after the city of Anchorage, Alaska, and is part of a class of ships known as Austin-class amphibious transport docks. The ship's design allowed for versatility in supporting naval operations.
