USS Alstede (AF-48) History
The USS Alstede (AF-48) was a stores ship of the United States Navy, launched on 15 December 1944. She was commissioned on 30 April 1945 and served primarily during the latter part of World War II, providing essential supplies to naval forces in the Pacific Theater. After the war, she continued to support operations during the post-war period.
In 1946, the USS Alstede was decommissioned and placed in reserve. She was later reactivated for service during the Korean War, supporting U.S. forces from 1950 to 1953. The ship was finally decommissioned in 1955 and sold for scrapping in 1970.
