UH-1
The UH-1, commonly known as the "Huey," is a versatile military helicopter developed by Bell Helicopter in the 1950s. It was primarily designed for utility and transport roles, featuring a single main rotor and a two-blade tail rotor. The UH-1 became famous during the Vietnam War for its ability to transport troops and provide medical evacuation.
With a maximum speed of around 130 knots and a range of approximately 300 miles, the UH-1 can carry up to 14 passengers or a significant cargo load. Its design has led to numerous variants, serving in various roles across many countries, including search and rescue, firefighting, and law enforcement.
