U.S. Broadcasting Board of Governors
The U.S. Broadcasting Board of Governors (BBG) was an independent agency responsible for overseeing all U.S. government-funded international broadcasting. Its mission was to inform, engage, and connect people around the world in support of freedom and democracy. The BBG managed several media outlets, including Voice of America and Radio Free Europe/Radio Liberty, providing news and information in various languages.
In 2018, the BBG was restructured and became part of the U.S. Agency for Global Media (USAGM). This change aimed to enhance the effectiveness of U.S. international broadcasting and adapt to the evolving media landscape, ensuring that audiences receive accurate and reliable information.
