Types of Solutions
There are three main types of solutions: solid, liquid, and gas. A solid solution occurs when a solid solute is dissolved in a solid solvent, like alloys such as bronze. Liquid solutions are the most common, where a liquid solute is dissolved in a liquid solvent, such as saltwater.
Gas solutions involve gases mixed with other gases, like the air we breathe, which is a mixture of oxygen, nitrogen, and other gases. Each type of solution has unique properties and behaviors, depending on the solute and solvent involved.
