Types of Bows
There are several types of bows used in archery, each designed for specific purposes. The most common types include the recurve bow, known for its curved tips that provide greater power and accuracy; the compound bow, which uses a system of pulleys to reduce the effort needed to draw the string; and the longbow, a traditional bow that is tall and made from a single piece of wood, offering simplicity and a classic feel.
Additionally, there are specialized bows like the crossbow, which features a horizontal limb assembly and is often used for hunting; the reflex bow, which has limbs that curve away from the archer when unstrung; and the target bow, designed specifically for competitive shooting. Each type of bow has unique characteristics that cater to different styles and preferences in archery.
