Types of Anchors
Anchors are devices used to secure a vessel to the seabed, preventing it from drifting due to wind or current. The most common types include plow anchors, which have a curved shape that digs into the seabed, and fluke anchors, which feature flat, pointed flukes that provide excellent holding power in various conditions.
Another type is the mushroom anchor, which has a rounded shape and is effective in soft, muddy bottoms. Additionally, screw anchors are designed to be twisted into the ground, providing strong holding power in rocky or hard surfaces. Each type serves specific purposes based on the environment and vessel size.
