Type 61
The Type 61 is a Japanese main battle tank that was first introduced in the early 1960s. It was designed to replace the older Type 97 tank and to meet the needs of the Japan Self-Defense Forces. The Type 61 features a 105mm gun and a fully rotating turret, allowing for improved firepower and maneuverability on the battlefield.
This tank was notable for its relatively lightweight design, which made it easier to transport and deploy. Although it has been largely phased out in favor of more modern tanks like the Type 90, the Type 61 played a significant role in Japan's post-war military development.
