Tyndall Air Force Base
Tyndall Air Force Base is located in the Florida Panhandle, near the city of Panama City. Established in 1941, it primarily serves as a training base for the United States Air Force. The base is known for its focus on air defense and is home to various military units and aircraft.
In addition to its training missions, Tyndall plays a crucial role in supporting Hurricane Hunter operations, which monitor tropical storms and hurricanes. The base has undergone significant renovations and improvements to enhance its capabilities and infrastructure, especially following damage from Hurricane Michael in 2018.
