Tursiops truncatus
Tursiops truncatus, commonly known as the bottlenose dolphin, is a marine mammal found in warm and temperate seas worldwide. They are known for their distinctive curved dorsal fin and playful behavior. Bottlenose dolphins typically grow to about 2 to 4 meters in length and can weigh between 150 to 650 kilograms.
These dolphins are highly social animals, often living in groups called pods. They communicate using a variety of clicks, whistles, and body movements. Tursiops truncatus is also known for its intelligence, often engaging in complex behaviors and problem-solving tasks, making them a popular subject of marine research and conservation efforts.
